Shop Local at Showplace Market

By Elisha Neubauer

There are so many gift-giving occasions every year that, after a while, finding a unique gift can become taxing. Wouldn't it be great if you could shop from local, independent stores without having to hop from place to place?

When Jennifer Campbell decided to convert her family's industrial space into Showplace Market, she wanted to provide a platform for independent and local retailers to reach their customers directly.

Showplace Market is a kind of American bazaar that hosts over one hundred vendors from Oklahoma, Texas, and Kansas. Many of their products are unique to their shops and are not mass-produced, so you can find gifts you wouldn't see in a big box store. The best part is that the products are always changing, so you won't run out of new and exciting items to choose from.

Campbell prides herself on retaining the personal experience of shopping at small, independent stores. "Customer service is HUGE to Showplace. We want to greet every customer that walks through the door and thank everyone that walks out; because when customers shop local that is what makes our store a success. So we love and want to show the best customer service to every person that walks in, that way they will spread the word of their positive experience," Campbell says.

Need a break from all of that shopping? Retreat to The Café, a vintage-inspired coffee shop serving fresh coffee and treats. The small corner of the large warehouse-like space contains several high-top tables and stools for shoppers to rest their feet and sip on something hot. Another niche carved into the vast horizon of vendor booths is the Book Nook, complete with comfortable couches and bookshelves lined with the hottest books.

Whether you're searching for a one-of-a-kind gift or just a little something for yourself, Showplace Market is an excellent place browse and shop. Grab a fresh cup of coffee and take a stroll through the one hundred different vendor booths located inside of the expansive building. Once you've finished, grab a friend, and take a second look, because there's always more to see at Showplace Market.
