Best Ribs in Central Oklahoma: Earl's Rib Palace

By Elisha Neubauer

Looking for good barbecue in Oklahoma? Earl's Rib Palace has been voted Best Barbeque Restaurant in Oklahoma City for fifteen years in a row by multiple newspapers across the state, as well as featured in Southern Living Magazine as one of the best BBQ joints in the South. Earl's Rib Palace has several locations across Oklahoma, so you're always within range of great ribs and pulled pork.

The restaurant opened its first location in 1996 and has remained locally owned and operated. There are now six locations across the state, with the same business model across the board: provide the best BBQ in OK with the best customer service at affordable prices. They also use as many made-in-Oklahoma products as they can in their recipes. Vice President Richard Rea says, "Our secret to serving the best BBQ is simple- buy high quality meats and ingredients, make everything from scratch, and never compromise quality over profit," says Rea.

"We are best known for our dry-rubbed pork spareribs and our lean and tender sliced beef brisket. Our cheddar burger is considered a "hidden gem" on our menu and our customers appreciate the fact that we make all our side items and sauces fresh daily," says Rea. If you can't decide what to order, try the Earl's Binge, which includes ribs, brisket, hot links, two sides and Texas toast. All of which, Rea says, is "served with a big smile."

As if the food wasn't enough reason to love Earl's Rib Palace, the support they offer to the community should tip the scale. They host fundraising nights for local civic, educational, and religious organizations and support the "Warmth for Winter" campaign: a community event aimed at providing coats for those without.

Earning 4.5 stars on websites such as Urbanspoon and Facebook, Earl's Rib Palace has a right to be proud of its food. One reviewer says, "My mouth starts to crave Earl's the second I step off the plane into OKC." With six locations, a fantastic menu, and even catering, Earl's makes it easy to try it for yourself!
